Alright ladies and gents...

I think the redesign is almost complete...please let me know what you think. Be brutally honest! Is it too busy??

Thanks!
Sophia

Looks great, but it's a little bit too wide. :-o

I LOVE LOVE LOVE the black and white swirly pattern all down the sides. I also love the swirly design around the right hand categories.

The only things that might look better would be to have the top portion blend a bit better with the side pattern. Unless you want it to be framed? I guess it will depend on the look you are going for. I really like the top panel categories -- very cute! I wonder if you could play a bit more with font as the swirliness of the "archive" type titles doesn't seem to match the "chic&XX" sections.

Ah, the one other thing is that the black and white swirl patter is pretty bold and striking. I think it takes away a bit from the content of your blog. I wonder if you could fade the black a bit so that the focus would be the text and blog articles?

Anyhow, the site looks great so far!!!

I love it! I think that is so cool! Did you do this by yourself? I love the links at the top :]

I did do it myself! I modified a blogger template.
In response to comments, I faded the background.
I shrunk the middle column as much as I could without having to go back and resize all my pictures.
Flutterbyblue: I loved the swirly bids down the side too...but I think it was just too busy so I simplified so that the style matches the top.
Keep the comments coming! Thank you for all your feedback!

looks really great! i love the swirly patterns, gives it an elegant journal feel.

thanks for the ad link! one question, is it supposed to link to flickr? it' great for me either way, but when you get new advertisers they might want to see that you link to their shops?

I like the new look and I think the width is good for presenting all of the pretty pictures you have in your posts :)

The only thing that stands out is the background - very lovely but maybe a bit too big? It competes for my attention when I am reading the posts - if the print were smaller and showed more of the gray versus white it might be nicer. Great job though - are you for hire as a blog designer :) ?

Thanks :) I will work on tweaking the backdrop again this weekend.

While I'm planning on helping a few local friends tweak their blogs, I'm not hiring myself out yet..;) Basically I heavily tweaked a blogger template by trial and error until I got what I wanted. It just takes time and patience! I also messed around in photoshop and purchased a few things off istockphoto. Photoshop is crucial.

Edited the background, thoughts?
