Jenny Humphrey's necklace in The Goodbye Gossip Girl

My favorite jewelry designer Pequitobun had another necklace featured on Gossip Girl! In the big party scene during the Season 2 finale Jenny's fabulously glam necklace is the one of a kind "Crown Jewels" necklace from Pequitobun. I'm not sure which necklace I love more, this necklace or the last Pequitobun piece Jenny rocked. I am SUCH a fan of the pearls and black garnets in the crown jewels necklace...but the dainty little rock candy like green amethyst cubes in the "preppy necklace" look good enough to eat. le sigh...maybe when I have a real job I'll be able to snatch up one of these fabulous little baubles.

Tiffany's specialty pearl jewelry store Iridesse is officially going out of business. My wedding necklace came from Iridesse, as did my last anniversary gift, a pair of beautiful pearl earrings. I adore pearls and I am despondent that this cute little shop is going out of buisness. I am even more upset that I don't currently have the funds to take advantage of the 50-70% off sale going on in Iridesse stores rights now.

Brand New Season of Gilmore Girls

Its a Lie! So, I was super excited to see that ABC was announcing a "brand new season" of the Gilmore Girls, which from the looks of the advertisement, could have been the real deal. I was of course skeptical, after all the show has been off the air for quite some time. An internet search showed that ABC was airing a season that was "new to them" but not new to the adoring legions of Gilmore Girls fans. Sorry folks, there is no "Gilmore Girls 2009" or "Gilmore Girl Season 7." Unless, you count the virtual Gilmore Girls fan fiction...which is headed into Season 10!

Binth Queen of Spades

My latest favorite artwork is the limited edition playing card series from Binth. I especially adore the queen of spades, a traditional illustration. The spades series of prints have traditional artwork, the heart series are a Tarintino-esque trio, the club face cards are Legend inspired and the diamond series have a hip-hop theme. Each print is $48, but they sell the playing card set for $10.

RIP Mrs. John L. Strong

I am so sad to have to announce that the luxury stationary brand Mrs. John L. Strong is going out of business. Hubby and I were huge fans of the extravagant and beautiful paper and home goods. Personally, I was unable to resist the seven deadly sins candle and stationary set and the home journal. Hubby uses the red croc embossed food and wine diary and directory to keep track of his appointments and such. It was our little tradition that I would buy him one each year as an early anniversary gift. I was looking forward to having a neat little bookshelf of agendas full of our memories and travels.

I was so sure Mrs. John L. would be around for forever, that I had plans to buy one of their house sets for myself in my future dream life, where I have money to burn on a super expensive box of notepads, with letter press covers reading "pool house," "jet," "movie room" etc. Tragically, my condo is basically a studio and I cannot afford to spend several hundred dollars on notepads, probably not even once they go on sale. In the event they end up 90% off I may splurge...and put the pool house notepad in my bathroom.

Avant Gardeners

I saw this book, Avant Gardeners, today in Anthropology. It looks so fabulous! Imagine my delight when I discovered in on sale for half the price at Amazon!
